Lucknow: Calling their Asha and Assistant Workers (Asha Sanginis) The spine of the Public Health Program, Chair of the Yogi Adityanath Minister on Friday announced to double the country’s part in their honorarium.
There were 1.6 lakh Asha workers and 7,000 asha sanginis in the state.
Overcoming the program to irritate Asha workers for their exemplary work in Covid-19 management and to distribute smartphones to 80,000 of them, CM said: “Asha workers assumed the responsibility of public health and contributed greatly to the creation of healthy communities formed by the basic state.” Under the current system, Asha workers get Rs 2,750 as the basic honorarium which Rs 2,000 comes from the remaining center of RS 750 contributed by the state.
In addition to permanent allowances, Asha and Sanginal workers get incentives for various tasks, activities and health campaigns.
Depending on their performance, they can get up to Rs 5,300.
Doubling parts of the country from Rs 750 to RS 1,500 will increase their total profits to more than Rs 6,000 per month.
CM also announced an additional performance bonus of Rs 500 to Asha workers for exemplary work in Covid-19 management between April 2020 and 31 March 2022.
The state government also announced additional incentives of Rs 10,000 for contract workers involved in Covid-19 vaccination during Minimum of 60 days.
At least 15,000 ANMS are registered in UP and ANMM contracts getting the consolidation amount of Rs 10,000 per month.
The decision brought a smile on the faces of health workers who had demanded revising incentives.
Repeating the commitment of the country to improving the health and infrastructure systems, CM said the team work allows to create strong infrastructure in all districts and services being extended to distant areas.
“Medical college networks, testing laboratories, oxygen facilities, health sub-centers and reference units will eventually serve the public interest that has become the priority of the BJP government from the beginning,” he said.
Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh said smartphones were provided for Asha workers who would simplify their work and help in better coordination between them and the department.
“At least 80,000 Asha workers are covered in the current phase while the remaining smartphones will be distributed in the next phase,” he said.
