Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday refused to remain an investigation in the incitement of the filmmaker Lakshadweep Aisha Sultana for commenting that Covid-19 was used as Bioweapon by the central government to the Islands.
Justice Ashok Menon refused after considering the petition (CRL.
M.c.
No.
2912/2021) submitted by Aisha challenged the case registered by the Kavaratti police.
The court said the investigation was still ongoing and was at a newborn stage.
Investigation agents must be given more time, said the court while asking for the administration of Lakshadweep to produce details of the investigation carried out so far.
It was based on a complaint proposed by a BJP worker that the case against Aisha was registered.
While trying to arouse a casing, he argued that he did not intend to offend the sentiment when making the statement.
The word ‘bioweapon’ is not used in its literal sense and is only intended as a criticism of administrative actions, the petition said.
