Independence Day: Spirit of Patriotism Engulfs Patna

Patna: Ahead of the 75th Independence Day celebration on Sunday, security has been tightened in the city, especially near Gandhi Maidan where the main event will be held before Governor Phagu Chauhan and Chief Minister Kumar Nith.
Telecast directly from this program will be available on different digital platforms from 8am.
The movement of the vehicle on all roads to Gandhi Maidan will be limited from 7am until the main event ends.
A total of eight tableaux on various social problems will be displayed on that occasion.
Meanwhile, a large number of people flocked to different markets to buy Indian flags and other accessories such as badges, hats, ribbons and wrist bands on Saturday.
Emergency stalls sell flags and various other items installed in areas such as Nala Road, Kadamkuan, Ashok Rajpath, Boring Canal Road and Thakurbari Road.
Mohd Shakib (43), a vendor at Bailey Road, told this reporter, “Flags and other decorative items anywhere between Rs 10 and Rs 550.” Saiding and sweet shops also sell tricolor ‘barfis’ and cakes.
Ajay Singh, owner of sugar near Kidwaipuri, claimed, “I-day cake and candy fly from the shelf.” Other shopkeepers, Gunjan Kumar, said, “innovative and creative I-Day candy is quite popular among patnites.” Schools held competitions: several city schools organized various competitions on the online platform on i-day night on Saturday.
While international school students participated in the Flag Making Competition, Baldwin Academy students participated in the Hindi speech competition on the topic ‘Aazadi Hamara Dayitva’.
Sundaram Kumari was declared the best speaker while Phool Kumar and Priyanvad were the first and second runner-up.
