Indian-American Neera Tanden to Function as senior Advisor to US President Joe Biden

WASHINGTON: The Biden government has declared that Indian-American Neera Tanden, that had dragged her nomination to direct the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) amid stern complaint, will now combine the White House as a senior advisor to President Joe Biden.

In an announcement, John Podesta, the creator of Center for American Progress (CAP) stated:”Neera’s intelligence, tenacity, along with political savvy is going to be an advantage to the Biden government as she assumes a new job as senior advisor to the president.

He said that a number of the policy alternatives below the Biden government were created and directed by Tanden in CAP over several decades.

Tanden functions as president and CEO of both CAP and has served as the CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund.

Back in March, Tanden had pulled her nomination as Director of the White House OMB following the Democrats didn’t secure enough votes in the Senate to procure her affirmation.

President Biden’s choice to direct the White House budget office had previously created premature controversy, emerging as a direct goal for conservatives and Republican lawmakers.
