India and Thailand Navies started a coordinated patrol 3 days

New Delhi: Indian and Thailand Navies on Friday began a three-day coordinated patrol in the Andaman Sea in the midst of increasing concerns over China’s maritime robbery to the Indian Ocean region.
The Indian Navy built by Missile Corvette Khamuk and Thailand Khamrosin Khamrosin Patrol Ship Tayanchon along with maritime patrol planes from both navies participating in coordinated patrols (Corpat), officials said.
Both Tarive Forces have been two-year-old conducting corpat along their international maritime boundaries (IMBL) since 2005 with the aim of maintaining an important part of the Indian Ocean safe and safe for global trade, Indian Navy spokesman Vivek Madhwal said.
“Corpat builds the understanding and interoperability between the Navy and facilitates the institutions of measures to prevent and suppress illegal illegal activities such as illegal not reported unreported (IUU), drug trafficking, maritime terrorism, armed robbery and piracy,” he said.
The official said further helped increase operational synergies by exchanging information for smuggling prevention, illegal immigration and to carry out search and rescue operations (SAR) at sea.
“The 32nd Indo-Thai KorPat will contribute to the efforts of the Indian Navy to consolidate inter-operability and establish strong friendship bonds between India and Thailand,” said Madhwal Commander.
The Indian Navy gradually expanded its presence in the Indian Ocean region in recent years.
Apart from the Coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Navy participated in maritime training in recent months with a number of countries.
Last month, India held Maalabar training which was also attended by the US, Japan and Australia Navy.
India invited Australia for training last year and this year effectively made it drill by all quad member countries.
Quad, consisting of India, the US, Australia and Japan, is intended to ensure free and open indo-Pacific, a region that witnessed the increasing Chinese military firmness in recent years.
China has been suspicious of the purpose of Maalabar training because it seems that annual war games are an effort to influence its influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
