India and the US need a free trade agreement: President of Usibc

WASHINGTON: India and the United States must have a free trade agreement to protect their businesses and their people, Atul Keshap, the new president of the US Indian business council (USIBC) said.
“It is the obligation to the two governments to become ambitious.
This is a good at sympathizers such as the USIBC and our member company to show ahead of the trade issue of investment.
You know, we need a framework,” said Keshap to PTI in an interview recently .
“And FTA (free trade agreement) is something we really need to have between the US and India for the protection and welfare of Indian companies and American companies, and the well-being of our two nations.
So we have to be ambitious, we must regulate.
Bold goals , “said American veteran diplomats.
The former US foreign official joined USIBC as his head this month.
“I want to see sustainable growth on the strategic side.
I feel like a lot of good work has been done.
Actually, so much so that I feel comfortable moving to work on trade and economic problems.
But there is still a scope on the strategic side and we must continue Become a close friend and continue our collaboration, “he said.
Responding to a question, he recorded a recent trade policy forum concluded between the two countries having good results in the case of overcoming several trade problems.
“Will be happy to see better energy and results than that.
I think it’s important for us to start talking About how we frame our standards on the digital economy and thus will have an impact on the frequency of global standards on the digital economy, “said Keshap.” Pandemic has shown us that we must be very, very alert about supply chain problems.
There are many crunch supply chains Over the past few years.
And as far as the US and India can work to create a more seamless supply chain that connects our two economies and weaving in the broader Pacific Indo, I think it is also very, very important, “he said.” The sky is the limit.
Every time I look around at the potential in that relationship, I realize that We really just started.
Twenty years of work and solid efforts have brought us to this point, and there are many reversions, “said Keshap, who previously served as a ‘US’ cost ‘affair in New Delhi.
