New Delhi: India on Tuesday brought back 78 people, including 25 citizens and a number of Sikh and Hindu Afghanistan from Dushanbe, a day after they were evacuated from Kabul to Tajik City.
The group together with three copies of Teacher Granth Sahib was flown from Kabul to Dushanbe by the Military Transportation Force of the Indian Air Force on Monday.
Evakuees was accepted at Indira Gandhi International Airport by Minister of Union Hardeep Singh Puri and V Muraleedharan.
“Collapsed to accept & pay respect for the three Holy Swaroop Sri Teacher Granth Sahib Ji from Kabul to Delhi a while ago,” Puri Tweeted.
Air India flights bring back people from Dushanbe.
“Joins Minister Shri @Hardeepspuri JI at Delhi Airport in receiving Swanoop Shri Teacher Granth Sahib Ji arrived from Afghanistan along with Evacuees,” Muraleedharan tweeted.
Previously, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs Arinindam Bagchi said 78 people were taken to Delhi with Indian air flights.
