New Delhi: India and China on Thursday agreed to continue their discussion to resolve the remaining problems along the actual control path (LAC) in East Ladakh, the External Ministry said (MEA).
The resolution came during the 23rd meeting of the working mechanism for consultation and coordination in Indian-China border affairs (WMCC) held on Thursday.
The Indian delegation is led by an additional secretary (East Asia) from the external ministry.

“Both parties attracted an agreement between the Minister of External Affairs and Chinese Foreign Minister during their meeting in September in Dushanbe that military and diplomatic officials from both parties had to continue their discussion to resolve the remaining problems along the LAC,” said Mea.

“Therefore, both parties have honest and in-depth talks about the situation along the LAC in the western sector of the Indian-China border area and also reviewed developments since the last meeting of the senior commander both parties held on October 10, 2021,” he added .
Both parties agreed on the need to find the initial resolution on the remaining problems along the LAC in East Ladakh while fully obeying the bilateral agreements and protocols to restore peace and tranquility.
“It was noted that both parties had to hold the next round of senior commander meetings on the initial date to achieve the full release goal of all friction points along the LAC in the West sector in accordance with existing bilateral agreements and protocols,” MEA stated.
India and China also agreed that both parties must be in the interim also continue to ensure a stable land situation and avoid unwanted incidents.
Indian and Chinese soldiers clashed last year resulted in the loss of several lives on both parties.
