Mumbai: India on Thursday named Dell Inc., Tik Wistron Corp, Flex Ltd, and Rising Foxconn stars as a choice of global companies in the $ 1 billion incentive plan to produce and increase laptop exports, tablets and personal computers.
Ten domestic companies were also chosen, including lava smartphone makers and Dixon, which made TV for Xiaomi Corp in India, the government said in a statement.
Under the plan, producers get cash of 1% to 4% of additional sales of locally made for four years, with 2019-2020 as the base year.
In the next four years these companies are expected to produce Rs 1.61 lakh crore ($ 21.59 billion) IT hardware and creates more than 36,000 jobs, the government said.
