New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Efforts in the health sector have ensured that India came out of the Pandemic Coronavirus stronger than countries that have better resources, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Sundays.
Minister of Minority Affairs said the efforts of Prime Minister in handling pandemics have shown results and more than 1,500 medical oxygen plants have or installed throughout the country under “PM-Cares”.
Speaking at the inauguration of one of the six medical oxygen plants, installed by Radico Khait in various parts of Uttar Pradesh, at the Public Health Center in Bilalaspur Rampur, Naqvi said the six factories with a capacity of 20 cubic meters of medical oxygen generation is being installed in Bilaspur (Rampur) , BILHAUR (KANPUR), Bhagwantpur (Prayagraj), Mahaga (Mahaga), Manjhanpur (Kaushambi) and Manikpur (Chitrakut).
He said better facilities and resources provided by administration, along with the precautions and restraints by the community, can make the country free from a pandemic.
MODI’s Prime Minister’s commitment to health and good health welfare has ensured that India came out of a stronger pandemic than the countries that already had better health resources, he was quoted as a statement from his office.
When Covid’s first wave came in India in 2020, there was a lack of resources to overcome pandemic but in one year, India has become independent in terms of ventilators, medicines, PPE kits, N-95 masks, testing laboratories for coronavirus, bed ICU, dedicated corona hospital, medical oxygen etc., said Naqvi.
Of only 900 metric tons per day before 2020 January, medical oxygen production has now increased to more than 9,000 MT per day, he said.
There are two covid vaccines made in India available, more than 40 crore people over 18 years have been vaccinated and more than 80,000 corona vaccination centers function, he shows.
“There are more than 2,624 Corona testing laboratories in this country.
More than forty-four Crore Twenty Lakh Covid has done so far and at an average of more than 20 Lakh tests are being carried out every day,” he said.
India currently has customer production capacity of more than 10 covid testing kits per day, he added.
More than 20,000 ICU beds were added throughout the country where 20 percent would be a pediatric ICU bed, Naqvi said.
