New Delhi: The day after Pakistan passed the bill to facilitate Indian prisoners Kulbhushan Jadhav signed the death penalty, India on Thursday said the law “only codified” “deficiencies” of the previous rules and that Islamabad had “failed” to create an atmosphere to ensure a fair trial in the case this.
A spokesman at the External Ministry (MEA) Arinindam Bagchi said Pakistan continued to deny consular access without obstacles and without obstacles to Jadhav as mandated by the International Court (ICJ).
“We have seen reports of Pakistan who enforced previous regulatory laws which were as if they were imposed to imposing ICJ’s assessment in the case of Jadhav Kulbhushan,” he said.
“Nothing can be further than the truth.
As stated earlier, the Ordonance did not make the machine for effective reviews and reconsider the Shri Jadhav case as mandated by the icj judgment,” he said.
Bagchi responded to media demand in Pakistan who enacted the law to impose ICJ’s assessment in the JADHAV case.
“The law only codifies the previous rules.
Pakistan continues to deny consular access without obstacles and without obstacles to Jadhav and fail to create an atmosphere in which fair trial can be done,” he said.
MEA spokesman said India repeatedly called Pakistan to comply with letters and spirit of ICJ’s assessment.
Jadhav, a 51-year-old Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by the Pakistani military court on charges of espionage and terrorism in April 2017.
After India approached, the ICJ based in Den Haag ruled in July 2019 that Pakistan had to do “reviews and considerations Effective reset “from Jadhav’s beliefs and punishment and also to provide consular access to India without further delay.
The International Court of Justice (Review and Re-Consideration) from 2021 Pakistan is in the Pakistani regulation line brought last year to facilitate JADHAV rights to submit a death sentence.
The bill was ratified in a combined parliamentary session at Islamabad on Wednesday.
