New Delhi: The government has decided to reopen the Kartarpur corridor with Pakistan after the meeting that BJP parliamentarian members from Punjab with PM Narendra Modi on Sunday.
The decision also came to the front of the upcoming Gurpurab, the warning of the newspaper from the first Nanak teacher teacher, where the government had allowed Sikh pilgrims to travel to Gurudwara Kartarpur through the Attari-Wagah border.
Pakistan also urged the Indian government last week to reopen the corridor.
Look as a peace corridor, especially because of how India and Pakistan succeeded in dealing with unrelenting hostilities in relation to building and opening it in just 12 months, the Kartarpur corridor is expected to be reopened “in a few days”.
The corridor, which was inaugurated in 2019, was forced to close last year in March after the Covid-19 outbreak.
The government has been maintained since then the corridor, which is a very large meaning of religion to Sikh as the last place for the Nanak teacher’s rest, will be reopened in line with the Covid-19 protocol and after consultation with all parties involved.
The decision to reopen the corridor also came ahead of the assembly election in Punjab early next year.
After the movement through the corridor closed last year, land trips limited to pilgrims have occurred through an integrated checkpoint of Attari-Wagah in coordination with Pakistan.
Given the importance of Gurupurab and sentiment associated with him, said MEA last week on Thursday, India has decided that “Jatha” around 1500 pilgrims will be permitted to visit Pakistan from 17-26 November 2021 through Attari- ICP outbreaks.
The visit was covered under the 1974 bilateral protocol between India and Pakistan at a ‘visit to religious temple’.
India also remembers that Pakistan has twice earlier this year denied permits for visits by Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan while expressing Pakistani hopes to facilitate a visit on this occasion.
A day later, Pakistan announced that it would issue 3000 for Indian Sikh pilgrims at night about what would be a warning of the birth of 552 from Nanak teacher.
