India has a vaccine certificate pact with 96 countries: Government

New Delhi: In a big boost for international travel, 96 countries – including the US, Britain, many European countries and the Middle East – have agreed to recognize mutual Covid-19 vaccination certificates with India, Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya said on Tuesday.
The government continues to communicate with more countries so the beneficiaries of the “largest covid vaccination program in the world are accepted and recognized”, thus relieving the objectives of education, business and tourism, said Mandaviya in a statement.
This step will make it easier for traveling for those who are vaccinated with covishield and covaxin produced in India.
Countries include Canada, Turkey and Australia as well.
Canada has searched for applications from Covaxin to approve it, even as approval for emergency use has increased the international revenue vaccine.
“At present, 96 countries have agreed to recognize each other’s vaccination certificate and also [Country] who recognize the Indian vaccination certificate from travelers who are fully vaccinated with the covishield / which approved the Covid vaccine agreed nationally,” said a government statement.
Concerned, people traveling from these countries are given certain relaxation as said in the guidelines of the Ministry of Health concerning the International Coming issued on October 20, 2021, the ministry said.
For those who want to travel abroad, international travel vaccination certificates can also be downloaded from the Cowin Portal.
France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Philippines, Bangladesh, Mali, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Angola, Nigeria, Benin, Chad, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Greece, Finland, Greece, Finland Estonia , Romania, Moldova, Albania, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Sweden, Austria, Montenegro, and Iceland are several countries on the list.
Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia, Republic of Kirgyz, Belarus, Armenia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Georgia, Andorra, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Peru, Jamaica, Bahamas and Brazil also approved the recognition of Covid-19 vaccination certificates with India.
“The Ministry of Health with the Ministry of External Affairs is in sustainable communication with all countries to recognize the vaccine certificate, and who and the vaccine agreed nationally to facilitate international travel hassle free throughout the country,” Minister said.
“The commitment of the United States to accelerate speed and expand the scope of Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country has resulted in crossing 100 crore milestones in the administration of the dose on October 21, 2021,” he said.
As many as 109.63 doses of Covid vaccine crore have been given in the country until 7:30 a.m.
on Tuesday.
