New Delhi: The Minister of External Affairs Jaisankar and his partner Malidivian Abdulla Shahid Friday signed an agreement on Indian-funded community projects in Maldives after they held a broad talk that included various bilateral, regional and global reciprocal problems.
The leader of the Maldives, who was chosen as the President of the UN General Assembly last month, arrived in India on Wednesday on a three-day visit.
“Signing the MoU on Indian-funded community projects in Maldives.
The first environment in action,” Jaisankar tweeted.
The minister of external affairs described the meeting as “warm” and promised full Indian support for the presidency of the UN General Assembly.

In the election to the post to the President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Shahid has launched a vision entitled “Hope Presidency” which lists the priority fields – recovering from Covid-19, reforming the United Nations, rebuilding sustainably, responding to the needs of this planet and respecting the rights -‘ak all “Good to meet my best friend Eam @DrsJaishankar.

Previously on that day, Shahid called Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
An official statement said that the Prime Minister Modi congratulated Shahid for his brilliant victory in the election, noting that he reflected the growth of the Maldives stature on the world stage.
“Prime ministers emphasize the importance of multilateral system reform, including the United Nations organs, to reflect the reality of the current world and the aspirations of the majority of the world population,” he said, Shahid thanked India for his support for him “Harapan Presidency”.

Maldives is one of the main neighbors of India’s main maritime in the Indian Ocean region.
At present, India is developing a $ 2 billion project that covers a large number of fields such as ports, roads, bridges, water and sanitation systems and socio-economic development.
