New Delhi: On the occasion of the International Macan Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reiterated India’s commitment to ensure safe habitat for tigers and maintained Tiger friendly systems.
In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said the Indian tiger conservation strategy was sticking to the most important to involve local communities.
“We are also inspired by our old ethos that live in harmony with all the flora and fauna with whom we share our large planets,” Modi said.
Greetings of wildlife lovers, especially those who are enthusiastic about tiger conservation in international tigers, Modi noted that India is home to more than 70 percent of the global population of tigers.
“We repeat our commitment to ensure habitat that is safe for our tigers and maintaining environmentally friendly systems,” he said.
India is home to 51 tiger reserves spread across 18 states and the last 2018 tiger census showed an increase in the tiger population, he said.
Modi also shows that India achieves the target of doubling the four-year tiger population ahead of the St.
