New Delhi: In the midst of increasing security issues in Afghanistan, India remains in touch with the Afghan government about developing situations and peace negotiations that are ongoing in Doha.
The Indian Ambassador to Qatar, Deepak Mittal, met with Afghan Chief Negotiator Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday to discuss developments related to Afghanistan.
Abdullah was in India last month at what the source said was a personal visit.
Even when the battle continued in Afghanistan, the Afghan government, represented by Abdullah, and the Taliban met in Qatar on Saturday and called for peace.
“On the sidelines of the DOHA talks, meeting Deepak Mittal.
Discuss the recent peace and development process in Afghanistan, the role of India in the process of peace and ahead,” Tweeted Abdullah, Chairperson of the High Council for National Reconciliation, Afghanistan.
He was quoted as saying that Afghanistan looked forward to positive and constructive results to speak in Doha.
For India, the main concern remained using the Taliban-controlled region by Pakistan and Pakbased terror groups.
