New Delhi: The long-range bomb developed accidentally (LRB) was successfully tested from the Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet by Drdo and IAF on Friday.
While Drdo did not determine the exact range of LRB, this weapon class was designed to reach the target of about 100 km.
“LRB, after being released from warriors, is guided to a long-term land target with the accuracy within the specified limit.
All the mission objectives are fulfilled,” said an official Drdo.
“BOM flight and performance monitored by a number of sensor range including an electro-optical tracking system, telemetry and radar deployed by the integrated test range in Chandipur in Odisha,” he added.
The LRB has been designed and developed by the Imarial Research Center (RCI), the Drdo Laboratory in Hyderabad coordinates with other laboratories.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated Drdo, IAF and other teams related to the successful LRB flight trial, stating that it would be proven to be a multiplier of strength for the Indian Armed Forces.
