New Delhi: Maharashtra recorded more than 100 deaths from Covid-19 on Friday while the victim in Kerala was more than 90 because of the daily death of the virus in India crossed 600 for the first time during the current wave of pandemic.
Meanwhile, new cases of Coronavirus continued to fall, indicating that the third wave might have peaked in the country, even though testing was still lower than the previous week’s number.
India reported 2,35,396 new cases on Friday, the lowest in 11 days, with data from one country waiting.
However, the number of recent deaths reported on Friday rose to 602.
This was the highest toll road reported on any day in more than five months since August 25 last year, when 603 fatalities were recorded.
It was also the third time in the last four days that more than 500 deaths were reported in this country.
Maharashtra became the first country during a current pandemic surge to report more than 100 deaths a day.
The country recorded 103 deaths on Friday, the highest since September 1 last year, with a pune circle (consisting of several districts) who reported 40 deaths and circles of Mumbai 30.
There were 10 deaths in the city of Mumbai.
Maharashtra has so far recorded the death of 935 Covid this month, the highest in this country, followed by Kerala (895), Bengal (751), Tamil Nadu (662) and Delhi (662).
Kerala on Friday reported 94 deaths (including death in the last few days), in addition to 258 long deaths declared to follow the appeal according to central and SC guidelines.
Karnataka reported 50 deaths, the second highest single-day victim in the current wave.
Meanwhile, three other countries reported the highest daily victims of the third wave – Gujarat, with 30 deaths on Friday, Goa (20) and Haryana (19).
Assam (21), Andhra Pradesh (12), Meghalaya (6) and Puducherry (5) equaled the legal victim of the highest day of this month.
Delhi reported 25 new deaths, the lowest in 11 days.
Except Kerala, who reported 54,537 fresh covid cases on Friday, daily case numbers fell in most large states.
Maharashtra recorded 24,948 cases, the lowest since January 4, while Karnataka’s calculation fell sharply from 38,083 on Thursday to 31,198.
