India saw a weekly decline no later than Covid-19 in the 2nd wave

New Delhi: Covid-19 Cases continued to fall in India but the rate of decline slowed on the week ended on Sunday, with five countries led by Kerala registering new cases compared to seven days before Maharashtra and Assam only showed a marginal decline in amount.
India recorded nearly 2.9 lakh new Covid cases on July 5-11, a drop of 5.5% from the previous week, when more than 3 lakh infections were detected.
This is the smallest decline in a weekly case since the second wave peaked in this country.
The previous week (June 28 to July 4) has decreased 11.4% while the week before it had posted a decrease in 18.6%.

Kerala, who posted the highest number of new cases last week at 91,652, saw an increase in infection of 8.1%.
This is the second consecutive week of increasing cases in the state.
Maharashtra also continues to record a high number of cases, with districts such as Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara emerged as a new hub of a pandemic.
Infection continued to be angry in the northeast, with Arunachal Pradesh posted a 43.8% increase in cases from July 5-11, followed by a 42.9% increase in Mizoram.
Manipur recorded an increase in infection of 26.6% while Tripura saw a 7.9% increase.
On Monday, the country recorded 30,557 new cases, the lowest number of days since March 16.
