Paris: Indian and French contingents, participating in military training with ‘ex-Shakti’, visiting the funeral of war in Marseilles where the Indian Army World War I was cremated.
The taker to Twitter on Saturday, the Directorate General of Public Information about the Indian army said the contingent gave respect and “presented the honorary guard to Bravehearts”.
A total of 1,002 Indian soldiers from the first World War have been cremated at the Mazargues war cemetery.

The sixth edition of the military training with Indo-France “Ex Shakti 2021” began at the Draguignan Military School, France on November 15, the Department of Defense said in a statement.
The Indian Army Contingent was represented by a composite team of three officers, three junior officers and 37 soldiers from Gorkha rifle battalions and supporting arms.
Training has so far focused on the aspects of joint planning, mutual understanding of the implementation of operations and identification of the coordination aspects needed to operate together in a counter-terrorism under the UN mandate.
The participating contingencies have also been included through the steps of conditioning battles and tactical training including shooting drills and work sessions ‘hard battle’.
This exercise is carried out in two phases that will lead to a tiring 36 hour exercise to validate the standards achieved for two phases.
