New Delhi: India and the US have started their ‘Yudh Abhyas’ military training in the mountains wrapped in Alaska snow, with more than 300 soldiers from each side taking part in battle maneuvers.
The 17th edition of Yudh Abhyas, who was a shared military training that took place longer and the efforts of defense cooperation between the two troops, was being held at the base with Elmendorf Richardson in Alaska.
About 350 Indian soldiers from Infantry Resiments 7 Madras and 300 American troops from the first (air) squadron of the 40th cavalry regiment took part in the 14-day training.
The US Army Commander (Alaska) General Brian Eifler, during the opening ceremony, asked both contingencies to focus on “increasing cohesion and interoperability” to achieve the goals of training training.
An Indian officer, in turn, said, “We have a little experience in high altitude operation.
We want to share our experiences with them.
We want to wave lessons from the US Army Technology Skills.” Joint exercises will facilitate both troops to get to know each other more Good, sharing their extensive tactical experiences and increasing their situational awareness through information exchange.
“This will help them in carrying out joint operations at the level of battalion in the mountainous field with cold climate conditions,” the officer added.
