India is likely to restart exporting the Covid-19 vaccine next year after he mimunizes the population of adults alone, said the government’s influential government expert panel.
“Nearly 60 countries hardly have access to vaccines and India must be able to provide most of 2022,” NK Arora, Chairman of the National Technical Advisory Group on immunization in India, said in an interview with Bloomberg television on Tuesday.
“As soon as we pass with our adult population, we must have enough vaccines to be shared with the whole world.” India, which has a second largest covid outbreak with 32.5 million infections, must have six shots developed locally at the end of 2021, said Arora.
As the head of the vaccine adviser group, he helped the Indian government evaluate new vaccines and review data from the launched.
