India has chosen to support the completion of the UN Security Council to provide release from sanctions on humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, underlining that the board must train supervision of providing possible funding assistance.
“India supports the resolution to provide release from sanctions for humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan,” said India’s remaining representation to the United Nations Ambassador that Tirumajari said on Wednesday.
“It is important that improved assistance and unrestriated access are given to the United Nations and other institutions.
In this context, India has supported the call of the international community that access to humanitarian assistance for Afghanistan must be directly and without obstacles,” he said.
“Help must achieve the most vulnerable first, including women, children and minorities,” he added.
He said there were reports that showed that more than half the population faced the crisis or level of acute food insecurity.
“As the largest regional development partner in Afghanistan, India is willing to coordinate with other stakeholders to work towards enabling provisions that are needed by help to the people of Afghanistan,” he said.
