India vs NZ: Rohit to pass the test; Rahane to lead in the first test

New Delhi: Ajinkya Rahane is set to lead India in the first two test series against New Zealand this month.
After the voter decided to give Virat Kohli to rest in the first test at Kanpur, it was decided on Thursday that Rohit Sharma would also sit from the entire test series to manage the burden of his work.
The decision was taken after the voter met on Thursday.
Toi has reported that the four regular test players of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh’s pants and Shardul Thakur will be missed the test series.
According to the source, there was a long discussion about the Stand-in captain after Kohli asked for a break in the first test.
There was a proposal to give Rohit Captain on the first test and then rested for the second match in Mumbai.
However, after a thorough analysis of the workload of Rohit, it was decided that the new full-time T20i captain needed to be given a longer break.
While the shape of the Rahane has been under the scanner for some time now, TOI understands that the election is alert to make wholesale changes and ensure there is an experienced leader in the absence of Kohli and Rohit.
Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal are two opening options to partner with Kl Rahul in the form while Wriddhiman Saha is scheduled to become the first choice wicketkeeper.
Central stairs will be manned by Rahane and Hanuma Vihari who last played the test in Sydney in January.
