New Delhi: The Indian team has been hit by an outbreak of Covid-19 infection.
Toi has learned that eight squad members have been tested positively on Wednesday.
Three of them are players who choose to play a series while four comes from supporting staff and one is a standby player.
The Indian team gathered at Ahmedabad on Monday to play the ODI series three matches against West Indies which will begin on February 6.
According to sources, the infected players were Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shreyas Iyer.
Besides the player, a driver, security personnel, a physical coach and masseuse has been infected.

Navdeep Saini, who with the team as a standby player, has also tested the positive virus.
National voters have added Maylank Agarwal to Indian squad.
The deputy captain appointed by Kl Rahul has not joined the team because he was released from playing the first game because he had a marriage to attend.
The whole team has been included in mandatory isolation.
The members should undergo quarantine three days after reaching Ahmedabad which should end on Wednesday.
However, they must remain isolated for at least two more days.
The test will be done every day now.
West Indies troops arrived at Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
BCCI said it was flexible with series scheduling.
Maybe it’s possible to push this series a few days if necessary.
However, if there is no positive case that comes out then the series can start according to the schedule on Sunday.
“Until now, the BCCI medical team monitors the situation and has not confirmed all positive cases,” said the source.
