Washington: India has welcomed American efforts to fight climate change and return to the Paris Agreement as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden held their first bilateral meeting at the White House.
President Biden, in his conversation with the Prime Minister of Modi at the Oval Office of the White House, expressed support for Indian intentions to achieve domestic goals to install 450 I renewable power in 2030, according to a statement of leaders with US-India issued after their meeting on Friday.
The meeting has an interest ahead of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in the Glasgow of England where the leaders of nearly 200 countries will gather to discuss advanced ways to overcome climate action and updated targets will be submitted.
India welcomed US leadership about climate and returning to the Paris agreement, the statement said.
In February, the US officially returned to Paris Climate Accord, 107 days after it went on the orders of former President Donald Trump.
During their meeting, Biden also acknowledged the importance of mobilizing finance for investment in renewable energy, grid storage and infrastructure that would guarantee clean power, reliable for millions of Indian households.
Through the two main trects of strategic clean energy partnerships (SCEP) and the mobilization of the Ikplication Action (CAFMD) under the climate and clean climate partnership of India As-India, the United States and India will accelerate the development and dissemination of clench energy of critical technology to advance the transition of clean energy.
India welcomed the United States to join the leadership group for industrial transitions.
The 26th party conference (COP 26) to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has this year’s significance as expected to discuss the status of climate financing by developing countries to developing countries.

It also confirms that the countries responsible for climate change must finance what they do and make technology available at affordable costs.
Under Copenhagen Accord, developed countries are committed to the aim of mobilizing 100 billion dollars per year by 2020 to help developing countries change climate change.
Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav has last month said that India is committed to the UNFCCC and its Paris Agreement and has extended support to the UK, which will host the International Climate Conference.
Under the Paris agreement, India has three nationally determined contributions (NDC), which includes reducing the intensity of its GDP emissions by 33-35 percent compared to the 2005 level in 2030; Increase the total generation of cumulative electricity from fossil-free energy sources up to 40 percent by 2030 and make additional carbon sinks of 2.5 to 3 billion tons through forest cover and additional trees.
