India Welcomes ASEAN Consensus in Myanmar: Ambassador Tirumuti

The United Nations: India led the UN Security Council meeting which was closed in Myanmar and welcomed the consensus of five ASEAN points on Tuesday.

Appreciate direction by Minister of Foreign Affairs II from Brunei Datassalam Dato Erywan Yusof, who is a special envoy of ASEAN for Myanmar,” India’s permanent representative of the UN Security Council president of the United Nations UN and Tirumu Tweeted.
“India welcomes @asan ‘consensus five points’ & looks forward to the initial visit to Myanmar from the ASEAN envoy,” he said.
The five-point consensus ASEAN states that there will be direct termination of violence in Myanmar and all parties will do fully restraint; Constructive dialogue among all the parties concerned will begin to find peaceful solutions in the interests of the people.
It was said that a special envoy from the ASEAN seat must facilitate the mediation of the dialogue process, with the help of the ASEAN Secretary General; ASEAN will provide humanitarian assistance through the AHA coordination center (ASEAN Coordination Center for Humanitarian Aid on Disaster Management); And special envoys and delegates will visit Myanmar to meet all parties concerned.
