India will always be a supporter of international law, said Jaishankar as New Delhi assumes an unsc presidency

New Delhi: Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar on Sunday said India looked forward to “working productively” with other members of the UN Security Council because the state took over the presidency of the UN 15-nation’s body.
Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar said that New Delhi will always be a moderation sound, advocate dialogue and supporters of international law.
“When we take over the UNSC presidency for August, hoping to work productively with other members.

India on Sunday assumes a revolving presidency from UNSC and is set to accommodate signatures related to maritime security, peacekeepers and counterterrorism for a month.
India took over the presidency from France.

This is India’s first presidency in UNSC for 2021-22 his term as a non-permanent member of the Unsc.
