New Delhi: India is ready to participate in Malabar Naval Exercises 21 with Quad countries starting today.
The Indian Navy (IN) participated in the Malabar Training Phase 2021 from 26 – 29 August 2021 along with the US Navy (USN), Japanese Maritime Defense Force (JMSDF) and the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), reading the Ministry of Defense Press Broadcasting.
The Maritime Training Malabar series began in 1992 as an exercise in USN.
In 2015, JMSDF joined Malabar as a permanent member.
The 2020 edition witnessed the participation of the Australian Kingdom Navy.
This year marks the 25th edition of Ex Malabar, organized by USN in the Western Pacific.
Malabar-21 will witness complex exercises including anti-surface warfare exercises, anti-air and anti-submarine, and other maneuvers and tactical exercises.
This exercise will provide opportunities for participating navies to benefit from their respective skills and experiences, releases added.
Indian naval participation includes Shivalik and INS Kadmatt and P8i Patrol aircraft led by Rear Admiral Tarun Sobti, VSM, Flag Officer ruled the East Fleet.
The US Navy will be represented by USS Barry, USNS Rappahannock, USNS Big Horn and PL8A Patrol Aircraft.
Japanese maritime self-defense forces will be represented by JS Kaga, Murasame and Shiranui, in addition to submarine patrol planes and P1.
The Australian Kingdom Navy will be represented by HMAS Waramuta, adding release.
The ships sailed from Guam where they participated in turning operations from August 21-24 2021.
During this phase, the command command commander officer, East Navy Command Deputy Adm Ad Singh, Avsm, VSM was exchanged with US Navy colleagues.
