Abhimanyu Mishra America of Twelve-year-old India has become the youngest chess grandmaster that has ever printed its third GM norm in Budapest on Wednesday.
After crossing the 2500 elo ranked barrier, Mishra broke the GM record of Sergey Karjekin which had been established for 19 years.
Abhimanyu lives in New Jersey with his mother Swati and Pastor Hemant, a data management professional, who introduced it to chess when he was only two and a half.
While it took 12 years and 7 months of cargoing to secure the Grandmaster title in 2002, Mishra took only 12 years, four months, and 25 days to get a gold standard in chess.
Mishra scored his first and second GM norms in Budapest too, in the April Verezerkepzo tournament and the first Saturday tournament in May 2021.
Only five players in history managed to get a title before their 13th birthday.
On August 12, 2002, Karjekin, Championship Challenger in 2016, secured the grandmaster title at the age of 12 and seven months.
Mishra, born on February 5, 2009, takes 12 years, four months, and 25 days to get the highest degree in chess.
According to a report at Chess.com, Mishra spent several months in Budapest, Hungary, playing back-to-back tournaments, chasing titles and notes.
He scored his first GM norms and the second there, in the April Veerkezo tournament and the first Saturday tournament May 2021, both round-robins of the 10 players were specifically prepared to print the norm.
“He could not immediately follow up in the next three tournaments in the capital of Hungary, which basically starts every two weeks: May and June Verukepzo and Robin round the first Saturday of June, which is held in the same play hall.” However, in his last effort this month, He succeeded.
When some chess players live in Budapest for this long period, the organizer created a last event, this time a Swiss group called the Verukepzo GM mixture.
It was invited to the Fide World Cup in Sochi, Mishra knew this would be his last chance before leaving Hungary.
