Washington: An engineer and Indian-American entrepreneur has announced that he will run to the US House of Representatives from Congress district in California.
Shrina Kurai, born to an Indian immigrant parents in Riverside, will challenge the 15-term Republic of Incumbent Ken Calvert for medium-term elections in November 2022.

Kurani describes itself as “an engineer, entrepreneur, and troubled problem-based problem and not politicians”.
“I have spent a business building my career which reduces waste and creates quality work.
I ran for Congress to make things work better in Washington and build a rural kingdom where people feel safe, healthy, and have the opportunity to successfully meet the work, ” she says.
“Ken Calvert has been in Washington for almost 30 years and he chose to oppose our interest in time and time again.
It’s time for a new approach,” he added.
Kurai graduated from La Sierra High School at the age of 16 and obtained a machine engineering degree from UC Riverside.
He has worked to start a company that aims to reduce waste and create sustainable solutions for food and water and serve as advisors to start a business that develops ways to make health care and education more affordable, accessible, fair, and effective, said media release.
At present, there are four Indian Americans at the House of Representatives – Dr.
Ami Bera, Ro Khanna, King Krishnamoorthi and Pramila Jayapal.
