WASHINGTON: The Biden government has declared that Indian-American Neera Tanden, that had dragged her nomination to direct the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) amid stern complaint, will now combine the White House as a senior advisor to President Joe Biden.

In an announcement, John Podesta, the creator of Center for American Progress (CAP) stated:”Neera’s intelligence, tenacity, along with political savvy is going to be an advantage to the Biden government as she assumes a new job as senior advisor to the president.

While we’ll probably be sorry to lose considerable coverage experience and leadership in the middle for American Progress–a business that we established jointly in 2003–I’m incredibly thrilled to watch her step to a brand new spot viewing this White House and the American folks.”
He said that a number of the policy alternatives below the Biden government were created and directed by Tanden in CAP over several decades.

“The government’s efforts will likely undoubtedly be mitigated with Neera Tanden about the group, and I’m eager to find out what she will attain in the use of senior advisor and in years ahead,” he further added.

Tanden functions as president and CEO of both CAP and has served as the CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund.

Back in March, Tanden had pulled her nomination as Director of the White House OMB following the Democrats didn’t secure enough votes in the Senate to procure her affirmation.

President Biden’s choice to direct the White House budget office had previously created premature controversy, emerging as a direct goal for conservatives and Republican lawmakers.

Neera is believed to have conducted in difficulty with a few of the Republican senators because of her remarks about several members of this Senate on Twitter,” The Hill reported.

Apart from accepting Neera’s petition for withdrawal,” US President Joe Biden suggested that she is going to be brought back into a different capacity within his government.

“I’ve approved Neera Tanden’s petition to withdraw her name from nomination for Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

I’ve got the utmost respect because of her record of achievement, her expertise and her counselor, and that I anticipate getting her function in a part within my Administration.

If Tanden was chosen, she’d have become the very first woman of color and the very first South Asian to direct the OMB.

Tanden was also the director of national policy for its Obama-Biden presidential effort, in which she handled all of national policy proposals.
