Indian-American policy experts Neer Tanden named White House staff secretary

Washington: India-American policy expert Neera Tanden, a trust near US President Joe Biden, has been named the Secretary of the White House staff, eight months after Republican Parliament members rushed nominations to the main post.

Tanden’s appointment as the White House staff secretary came eight months after he pulled the nomination as Director of the White House Management and Budget Office due to rigid opposition from the Republican Senator.
In March, he faced a difficult time to confirm his nomination as Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for the explosion of the past social media against several parliamentarians, including those from their own democratic parties.
While accepting Tanden’s request to pull his name from the nomination in March, President Biden said, “I highly respect to record his achievements, his experience and advice, and I hope to have serviced in my government in my government.

“The White House announced in May that Tanden was appointed as a senior advisor for Biden.
Tanden previously served as a senior advisor for health reform in the Ministry of Health and US Humans.
He worked with Congress and stakeholders about certain provisions of the legislative achievement of President Barack Barack Obama’s signature, affordable care.
Before that, Tanden was a domestic policy director for President Obama-Biden’s campaign, where he managed all domestic policy proposals.
Tanden also served as policy director for the first presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton.
Before the 2008 presidential campaign, Tanden served as the Director of the Legislature at the Clinton office, and the representative of the campaign manager and director of the issue for the 2000 Clinton Senate Campaign.
He began his career as Director of Associate for domestic policies in former White House President Bill Clinton, and senior policy advisors to the First Lady.
Tanden holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a law degree from Yale Law School.
