Indian athletes are advised to limit movement when cases rise in the village

New Delhi: Indian athletes and participants from 13 other countries, which are exchanged in group 1 and 2 countries because of the high viral load there, have been told by the Tokyo 2020 (OC) organizing committee to limit their movements in the village.
They have been told to take full precautions during their visit to the training room and dining room due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases on campus.
Athletes from these countries have been directed to strictly adhere to Covid behavior, including maintaining social distance and wore masks every time they explore in the village, TOI has learned.
The committee felt athletes from India and 13 other countries posed a higher risk due to the existence of the Covid-19 variant in each country.
Some athletes posing for photos and recording videos in the village have released their masks, while others, just walking around in the village park after their dinner, having their mask in his chin.
The message has been communicated to the athletes by the Chef-de-mission office in the village.
They have also been told to avoid wandering unnecessarily in the village area and keep their movements restricted.
Tokyo has reached a six-month high in the Coronavirus case, one day before the Olympics.
1,979 new cases on Thursday were the highest since 2,044 cases recorded on January 15.

It was also decided that a number of RS one lakh will be given to each athlete to represent the country.
