Indian boxer training at the Village Games as a far boxing place

Tokyo: With the Olympic boxing venue “quite far”, Indian Pugilists has decided to practice at the facilities available in the village of Games to avoid the activities and risks caused by Covid-19.
The match boxing competition is scheduled to be held in Ryogoku Kokating the Arena Sumida Ward here, especially the Sumo wrestling place.
The arena is a little more than 20 km from Tokyo Bay, where Games Village is located.
“We have decided to practice in the village.
We went to the designated game venue on Monday and it was very far away.
In fact, not only us, several other teams also felt the same and we all had practiced in the village match,” one The source in the Indian boxing contingent told PTI.
“Very hot, so the deployment of trips so far only for training doesn’t seem worth it.
Also, Covid’s fear is there,” the source added.
“Training facilities in a nice village, no problems.” Nine unprecedented Indian boxers – five men and four women – will compete in the match.
People at Fray are world number one Amit Panghal (52kg), Manish Kaushik (63kg), Vikas Krishhan (69kg), Chadhary Ashish (75kg) and Satish Kumar (+ 91kg).
The challenge of women consists of world champions six times and London Olympic Bronze-Medal MC Mary Kom (51kg), Simranjit Kaur (60kg), Lovlina Borghain (69kg) and Pooja Rani (75kg).
Of these, only Vikas and Mary Kom have experience before competing in the game.
The boxing competition will take place from July 24 and Pamhal, Vikas and Mary Kom are one of the favorites for medals.
India has not won a boxing medal in the 2016 edition in Rio de Janeiro.
