Daily Covid cases fell below 2.5 lakh for the first time in five days due to lower testing during the weekend leading to detection of around 2.35 lakh fresh infections on Monday, down from almost 2.59 lakh the previous day .
Death of the virus continued until the seventh consecutive day with 250 deaths reported in India, compared to 235 on Sunday.
Daily toll road, which does not count old death added to the calculation, has touched 250 after 102 days, since October 7, 2021.

Bengal recorded the highest number of deaths in 33, followed by Delhi and Maharashtra with 24 each and Punjab and Tamil Nadu at the age of 20 each.
The sharpest decline in cases since the previous day was reported in Maharashtra (31.111, down from 41,327), Karnataka (27,156, from 34,047) Delhi (12,527, from 18,286) and Bengal (9,385, from 14,938).
