Indian cricket fraternity reminisces about 1983 World Cup win

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and several Indian Premier League (IPL) teams recalled India’s historic maiden World Cup victory against West Indies on this day 38 years ago.

Considering the talent in the Windies’ ranks, the total looked fairly chaseable, however, fine bowling by India’s attack helped skittle their opponents out for just 140.
Mohinder Amarnath and Madan Lal were the stars with the ball, taking three wickets apiece as India recorded a 43-run victory.
