Bhubaneswar: India’s food security system is an example before the world, said Bishow Parajuli, the UN World Food Program (WFP) Representative and Director of State to India, here on Wednesday.
Experiencing the 18th Foundation Day study at the Kiit who was considered a university, Parajuli said, “India has made extraordinary progress in the field of food security for the past 50 years.
It has become a country surplus of food from the country dependent on food.
Along with food production , conducive policy, science and technology, efficient supply chains, markets and access are one of the factors that have contributed to progress.
“He said food production was not the same as the availability of food.
“Unfortunately, global hunger increases.
Up to 811 million people do not have enough to eat, while 270 million suffered acute hunger despite a lot of food production,” he said.
Kiit and kiss have a big role to be played in ensuring that the Green Revolution 2.0 was established in sustainable practice and was able to meet the challenges of climate change.
