New Delhi: India on Friday welcomed a joint statement by nuclear weapons countries to prevent nuclear wars while repeating their own doctrines to maintain credible minimum prevention based on non-first and non-use nuclear weapons of non-nuclear weapons.
China, France, Russia, England and the US earlier this week issued a joint statement to prevent nuclear war and to avoid races of weapons.
“We welcome the joint statement this week, which reaffirms the importance of overcoming nuclear threats, and underlines the desire to work to create a security environment that is more conducive to developing in the disarmament of the world with nuclear security for all,” said spokesman for MEA Arinindam Bagchi .
India remains committed to the purpose of disarming universal nuclear weapons, non-discriminatory and can be verified, he added.
