New Delhi: The Robotics and Drone company has claimed that it has done the longest drone flights 51 km in India to survey the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) pipeline in Haryana.
Omnipresent Robot Technologies Founder and CEO Aakash Sinha told PTI that Flight 51 Km Long Omni-Hansa V5 took place on November 3 “I believe the longest drone flight previously in India is 42 km away,” he said.
All flights – from takeoff to landings – fully autonomous, which means in automatic pilots, he said.
“We have a tracking mechanism in the drone.
We can track it through our 4G network with our tracker,” he said.
HPCL wants the advantage to extend the reach of Omni Hansa V5 to 100-200 km, he said.
Omni Hansa V5 can take off and land like a helicopter so it doesn’t need a runway.
However, so in the air, it flew like a plane, Sinha stated.
This drone is called Hybrid Fixed-Wing Vtol (take off the vertical and landing) drone, he explained.
“We managed to complete the longest Indian drone flights.
We fly drones for 51 km for one of our HPCL pipe clients.
It is a BVLOS flight (Beyond Visual Line of Sight).
This is a note in India,” he said.
He said the flight happened to survey HPCL pipelines that walked between Delhi and Haryana.
“IT (Pipeline) starts from Bahadurgarh (in Haryana),” he added.
HPCL officials were also present during flight demonstrations, he said.
Flights rose to a maximum height of 400 feet, as permitted by the DGCA flight regulator rule.
Sinha said Emnipresen had registered 100 percent growth in the past year and is expected to grow three to five times in the next 3-4 years.
The company aims to achieve RS 1,000 Crore’s revenue target in the next four years, he added.
At present, the company also works with Indian e-commerce giants who want to spread drones to ship items.
