Tolo News Afghanistan reported that Ghani and his close help had left the country after the Taliban entered Kabul after arresting almost all cities and provincial capital.
When Afghanistan looked at the uncertain future with the fall of Kabul in the hands of the Taliban, several countries including the US and England rushed to evacuate their staff from the city that had been gripped by fear and panic.
People who tracked development in Afghanistan said India had prepared all contingencies and possibilities including evacuating their staff at the embassy in Kabul and Indian citizens stranded in the country.
It was lowned that the Fleet of Globemaster Military Transportation of the Globemaster C-17 from the Indian Air Force continued to standby to carry out the evacuation mission.
The people quoted above said India would not put the lives of its staff at the embassy and its citizens in Kabul with risk and plans had been resolved for emergency evacuation.
“The government is very monitoring rapid development in Afghanistan.
We will not put our staff life at the Indian Embassy in Kabul at any risk,” said a source.
However, there are no official comments from India on rapid development in Afghanistan.
In the past few days, Taliban fighters have swept most of the country, seizes control of around 25 of 34 provincial capital including cities such as Kandahar, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif and Jalalabad.
Afghan media quoted Defense Minister Bismillah Mohammadi said that President Ghani handed over authority to solve the “crisis” in the country to political leaders.
Mohammadi said that the delegation would travel to Doha on Monday for talks about the situation of the country.
Abdullah Abdullah, Chairperson of the Afghan High Council for National Reconciliation, seemed to criticize Ghani for leaving the country and said, “God will consider it responsible and the nation will also judge.” Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai said on Twitter that the Coordination Board consisting of himself, Abdullah Abdullah and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar had been formed for transfer of power after the departure of President Ghani.
Previously on that day, Afghan Presidential Palace said on Twitter that the situation was controlled in Kabul and had not been attacked, even though there were several examples of sporadic shots.
It was said that Afghan security forces worked with international partners to ensure Kabul’s security.
“Kabul has not been attacked.
State security forces and defense work with international partners to ensure city security and the situation is controlled,” said a statement in Pashto.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken described the Taliban attack and the fall of Kabul as “heartbreaking items”.
“We went to Afghanistan 20 years ago with one mission, and the mission was to deal with the people who attacked us on 9/11.
And we have succeeded in the mission,” said Blinken to the program “State” CNN.
“The purpose we set, bringing those who attack us for justice, ensuring that they cannot attack us again from Afghanistan – we have succeeded in the mission, and in fact, we managed a while ago,” he said.
“And at the same time, remain in Afghanistan for one more, five, ten years is not in national interests,” he added.
The Taliban made a rapid progress in Afghanistan using widespread violence because the United States began to attract its troops from the country on May 1.
