KATHMANDU: Indian mountaineer Harshvardhan Joshi has achieved the rare feat of climbing the world’s highest peak, Mt Everest, with all eco friendly way, according to a press report on Monday.
Joshi, 24, a resident of Navi Mumbai, finished the trip on May 23, The Himalayan Times reported.
He had been a part of a three-member Group of Satori Adventure Everest Expedition.
Another members were Nepalis Furte Sherpa and Anup Rai, Managing Director at Satori Adventure Rishi Bhandari told the paper.
Bhandari said that the expedition was one time as the group didn’t burn off fuel for heating and other functions.
Joshi and his staff employed portable solar panels for heat.
Typically, expedition groups take diesel to be used.
Joshi and his staff are yet to achieve Kathmandu because they struck storms along with some delay because of Covid-19 limitations during their scale down, ” the report stated.
Mumbai-based Chirag Rural Development Foundation agents stated Joshi has guaranteed to set up solar energy systems at the distant cities of the Himalayas in Nepal.
Chirag Rural Development Foundation (CRDF) provides ecofriendly lighting options in rural locations.
Creator of CRDF Pratibha Pai explained:”We congratulate him (Joshi), since he excels from the manifestation of’green glory’.
Harsh has defeated Everest benevolently and graciously — picking a sustainable route to satisfy his fantasy and utilizing clean and renewable solar capacity to defend the hills”
