Alexandria: Indian Navy Tabar has reached Alexandria Harbor, as part of the deployment of the ongoing ship.
The Tabar that arrived here on Friday was accepted by officials from the Egyptian Navy and Indian defense attaches.
The Indian Ambassador to Egypt, Ajit Gupte who visited the ship was given a streets and briefs about activities related to the spread of the ship, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The event was attended by senior officers from the Egyptian Navy and several members of the Alexandria government and a large number of Indian Diaspora.

INS Tabar is a talwar-class stealth frigate and forms a part of the West Indian naval fleet based in Mumbai under the Western Navy Command.
The ship was built for the Indian Navy in Russia and was assigned to St Petersburg in April 2004.
