New Delhi: The Indian Press Council (PCI) on Tuesday celebrated National Press Day, with a leading personality given the contribution of media and evolution in this country.
PCI regulates the seminar on the topic, ‘which is not afraid of the media?’, To mark the opportunity.
Overcoming the seminar, Gururgrahy Swaminathan, editor of the Tamil Magazine, tracing media changes has experienced a pre-independence era today.
Speaking of social media, he naved him as an “anarchist” and suggested that a complete ban must be imposed on this because it pose a risk for “the image of all people, national security and national interests”.
However, some participants in the seminar, however, are different from Gururuhy’s suggestions, by saying while steps need to be taken to check the circulation of information that is not verified, complete prohibitions on social media will not be the right step to check the wrong deployment of information.
Underlining the positive aspects of social media, one of the participants said it has offered individual platforms to freely express their views on any topic.
GururTy was invited to be a guest of honor on the event organized by the Watchdog Media headed by Chandramauli Kumar Prasad (Retd).
