Indian referee to officiate wrestling Fires in Tokyo Olympics

NEW DELHI: Ashok Kumar, an Worldwide wrestling Swimmer, is the Only Indian nominated to officiate Charms Through the Tokyo Olympic Games at July-August.

The United World Wrestling (UWW), the governing body of the game, has nominated Kumar.
“I am the sole Indian referee chosen by the UWW.
I’ll be officiating bouts through the Olympics.
There has been a selection process to choose candidates to the Olympics and that I successfully cleared those standards,” Kumar told IANS.
Kumar, 50, stated that the decision procedure for referees began in the 2019 Senior World Wrestling Championship at Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan, accompanied closely by the Asian Olympics Qualifiers held a month at Almaty.
“The last choice was performed during lately finished World Olympic Qualifiers at Sofia, Bulgaria.
I had been recorded in all 3 major contests,” he explained.
Kumar, an employee of the Indian Air Force, was nominated to officiate spells throughout the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Kumar obtained his global referee permit in 2005.
Since then he’s officiated in over a hundred international championships, such as the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and also Jakarta Asian Games in exactly the identical calendar year.
He’s also coach of the Indian Air Force wrestling team.
