New Delhi: Emphasizing the Challenge of India’s national security is increasingly becoming more “complex” because the geopolitical situation changes rapidly, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that the country needs a strong, capable and independent domestic defense industry to meet the operational needs of the armed forces.
The Minister’s comment comes in the midst of a sustainable military confrontation with China at the East Ladakh and Telatan Take-over Afghanistan after withdrawal of US troops from the land confined country.
“Today, security scenarios around the world change very quickly.
Therefore, the challenges of our national security increase and become complex.
There are constant changes in global geopolitical situations,” said Singh, launching ‘Defense India Startup Challenge 5.0’ here.
Thirty-five “Problems’ Statements” have been identified based on this initiative to promote technology development in the defense sector, which ranges from flock of drones, data collection and underwater domain awareness to situational awareness and artificial intelligence.
“It is necessary that we not only create strong, modern and complete armed forces, but also develop our defense industry, which are equally strong, capable, and most importantly, fully ‘independent’,” Defense Minister said, “Minister said Defense, “urged the private sector to contribute to strengthening the weapons manufacturing sector.
He refers to a number of initiatives taken by the government, including steps to improve partnerships with the private sector, technology transfer and import restrictions of more than 200 items, to promote independence and produce employment opportunities in India.
