MUMBAI: While no selector could go to watch the World Test Championship (WTC) final at Southampton, due to the strict travel restrictions imposed by the UK government, India’s national selectors are set to leave for India’s two forthcoming assignments.
While chief selector Chetan Sharma is set to go to England, two selectors, Abey Kuruvilla and Debashish Mohanty, will travel to Sri Lanka for the limited overs series, TOI has learnt.
Kuruvilla and Mohanty are currently quarantining with the rest of the Lanka bound-squad in a five star hotel in the city.
“Joshi and Harvinder are likely to join Chetan, by turns, in England,” informed a source.
Led by Shikhar Dhawan, India will play three ODIs and three T20Is against the hosts at the R Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo.
The ODIs will take place on July 13, 16 and 18 while the T20Is will be played on July 21, 23 and 25.
The team is coached by former India skipper and batting legend Rahul Dravid.
