Indian users spend more than 5 hours every day on their smartphone: Ericsson

New Delhi: Smartphone users in India spend at least 92 minutes a day watching videos on their smartphones and about 89 minutes per day exploring the internet.
At the average, Indian smartphone users spend at least three hours a day watching videos and exploring the internet, according to the report ‘future urban reality’ by Ericsson Consumerlab.
Ericsson also claimed that 46% of those surveyed spend time using the e-learning platform during a pandemic with the average time among all Indians using a smartphone is 5 hours 24 minutes.
This report highlights that internet users in India have increased average of their time online 3.4 hours per day due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
“Students and populations of workers also add two to three hours per day for long-distance studies and work.
About 10% increase in the use of the type of new information communication technology,” the report added.
“91% surveyed using the Android operating system while only 7% use iOS.
Most people (25%) spend their time on a smartphone for films / videos compared to the vessel (19%) and voice calls (10%), he added.
The 5G future in India, Ericsson said that four of the five smartphone users were interested in obtaining 5G handsets for 2021.
Another finding of this report was claimed, “36% of Indians believe it is okay to monitor people’s information to protect against crime, compared to 13% who feel the same way globally.
“It also highlighted that 20% of smartphone users stand 60% of ARPU and 86% of data traffic.” Seven in 10 believes their current cellphone provider is a market leader in most regions of 58% of all smartphone users have a cellular service operator rating.
They themselves as expected market leaders in 5G, “he said.
