Jaipur: Speaker Lok Sabha Om Birla, who was on a tour of Austria, held a bilateral meeting with a six-state parliamentary speaker during the world speaker conference on Thursday.
Birla led the Indian parliamentary delegation at the fifth world conference parliamentary speaker (5WCSP) in Vienna, Austria organized by the Austrian Parliament, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the United Nations.
During the meeting between Birla and the Austrian Parliament Speaker Wolfgang Sobotka, there was a discussion between the two countries regarding the Covid vaccination program.
Birla said that India is currently running the largest vaccination campaign in the world.
At present, more people are vaccinated every day in the country than the total Austrian population.
There was also talks between the two leaders regarding the parliamentary exchange and training of parliamentarians.
Sobotka said that Indian democracy was strong and prosperous.
Birla also told him about the completion of the 100 years of the public account committee.
Birla, during a bilateral meeting, invited speakers from all parliaments to attend the program to mark when the public account committee.
He said that the committee had played a role in bringing transparency and strengthening financial integrity in this country.
The completion of the 100-year committee is a historical opportunity.
During bilateral talks, parliamentary speakers of all countries appreciate India’s efforts to control Covid.
