New Delhi: Indian warships are part of various naval exercises with the Spanish Navy near Cape Trafalgar which is very important, officials said on Friday.
The assets deployed by the Spanish Navy for maritime partnership training including a Maritime Cessna patrol aircraft and King Sea Helicopter (SH-3D), they said.
“Ins Tabar conducted maritime partnership exercises in the sea by Spanish naval aircraft on July 8 near Cape Trafalgar immediately after crossing the Strait of Gibraltar,” said the commander of the Indian Navy Vivek Madhwal.
He said some exercises such as air defense, vertical charging and cross deck operations were carried out as part of the exercise.
“This exercise is mutually beneficial in increasing interoperability and towards the consolidation of joint operations against maritime threats,” he said.
Previously, AMS Tabar and Italian Frigate, Antonio Marceglia did a two-day maritime partnership training at the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Exercises on July 4 and 5 include a variety of naval surgery, including air defense procedures, charging in the sea, communication exercises and Helo cross-deck operations during the day and night.
